We want you to be happy with your purchase. If something isn't right, here's how we handle returns, exchanges, and refunds at SmartBookDeal.com. We only sell physical books — no ebooks or digital products.
Return Window
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return.
Return Condition
To be eligible for a full return, the book must be in its original condition — unread, unmarked, undamaged, and with all original packaging intact.
Books that have been written in, highlighted, bent, torn, or damaged in any way by the customer are not eligible for a full return.
Partial Refunds
If a returned book shows minor signs of handling but is not in its original unused condition, we may offer a partial refund at our discretion. The amount will depend on the condition of the book when we receive it.
How to Start a Return
Email us at support@smartbookdeal.com or call us at (617) 385-3847 with your order number and the reason for your return. Once your return is approved, we will send you a prepaid return shipping label by email. Simply pack the book, attach the label, and drop it off with the carrier. You do not need to pay anything for return shipping.

Please do not send returns without contacting us first. We need to approve the return and send you a prepaid label before you ship anything back.
Exchanges
If you'd like to exchange a book for a different title or edition instead of a refund, let us know when you reach out. We will do our best to process your exchange as quickly as possible. The same 30-day window and return condition rules apply for exchanges.
Wrong Book Shipped
If we made a mistake and sent you the wrong book, contact us right away. We will ship the correct book to you at no extra cost and send you a prepaid return label to send back the wrong one. You will not be charged anything for our error.
Refund Process
Once we receive your returned book at our address and confirm it meets our return conditions, we will process your refund within 7 business days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method. After we process the refund, it may take a few additional business days for the amount to appear in your account depending on your bank or payment provider.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned for a full refund:
Books that have been read, written in, highlighted, or marked in any way. Books with damaged covers, bent pages, or missing packaging caused by the customer. Returns requested after the 30-day return window has passed.
